⚖️ Euroopan komissio julkaisi toukokuun alussa laajan sosiaalipoliittisen paketin, jonka keskiössä on EU:n ensimmäinen köyhyyden vastainen strategia. Köyhyyden vastaisen strategian lisäksi paketti sisältää ehdotuksen neuvoston suositukseksi asunnottomuuden torjumiseksi sekä aloitteita lapsiköyhyyden vähentämiseksi ja vammaisten henkilöiden oikeuksien vahvistamiseksi. ![]()

“Kokonaisuutena tällainen paketti on tervetullut. Köyhyys on kasvava ongelma sekä EU:ssa että Suomessa. Mutta koska kyse ei ole lainsäädännöllisistä toimista, sen vaikutukset jäävät pitkälti jäsenmaiden omien päätösten varaan”, SAK:n sosiaalipoliittinen asiantuntija Tuuli Glantz sanoo.![]()
